Djurwa stands with DjirraVIC in Support of Ochre Ribbon Week

Our team stands up and shows support for DjirraVIC's Ochre Ribbon Week

Ochre Ribbon Week is an Aboriginal-led campaign by DjirraVIC that raises awareness about the ongoing crisis of violence against Aboriginal women and children. This week highlights the urgent need to address the violence that disproportionately affects Aboriginal women, who are 11 times more likely to die from violent assaults than other women. In Victoria, they are 45 times more likely to experience violence than non-Indigenous women.

At Djurwa Recycling and Waste Management, we are proud to stand up and show our support for this vital cause. In recognition of Ochre Ribbon Week, we’ve made a donation to DjirraVIC, helping them continue their incredible work in supporting the safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal women.

We are also committed to exploring further ways to support DjirraVIC and strengthen their efforts. We will be meeting with their team to discuss additional opportunities to contribute and collaborate in meaningful ways to support our community.

We now call on other businesses and organizations to step forward and make donations to DjirraVIC. It’s time for both our community and the government to take decisive action to create real change for the women in our community.
