This February, Djurwa Recycling and Waste Management proudly participated in REDFEB, Heart Research Australia’s initiative aimed at raising awareness and funds for heart disease research during National Heart Health Month. As heart disease continues to be the leading cause of death for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, contributing to 1 in 10 deaths each year, we knew this was an opportunity to make a real impact.
In line with our commitment to the health and well-being of our team, we completed the 715-health checks, an important step in ensuring the early detection of health issues. We recognize how essential it is for our community to prioritize health, and by taking part in REDFEB, we’re encouraging everyone to do the same. The 715-health check can help identify potential health concerns early and prevent chronic conditions from developing.
But we didn’t stop there. In addition to completing the health checks, we made a donation to Heart Research Australia to support their vital research in heart disease, helping fund the efforts to improve health outcomes for our community.
We encourage all our community members to take control of their health and schedule a 715-health check today. Together, we can make a difference and work towards a healthier future.
